Welcome!

Every Sunday, I’m covering weekly financial news from the Financial Times and The Wall Street Journal print editions as it happened 100 years ago in the leadup to the Wall Street Crash of 1929.

The 1920s was the first decade where markets went mainstream. The intention of this newsletter is to explore how markets moved and journalists reacted between 1921 and 1929: the Roaring 20s.

Who am I?

I am a Princeton graduate and former hedge fund portfolio manager. From a world away in the beautiful Hawaiian Islands, I remain passionate about historical and current macro events that impact asset prices, especially 1929 and 2008.

Because of Princeton University’s prominence in finance and proximity to New York, I had unique vantage points throughout the Financial Crisis of 2008 — lectures from government officials, access to finance titans, and internships on Wall Street. I also kept a diary of it all.

On the 10th anniversary of September 2008, I published my diary chronicling the Great Recession during my time at Princeton University. If you have an interest about that time period, I encourage reading it.
